Hockeytown Tank, Yzerman’s Offseason Options, and NHL Expansion

It’s not mathematically over for the Detroit Red Wings, but it feels like it’s over.

Tune in as we discuss the latest loss as the Red Wings fell to the Vegas Golden Knights, including Lucas Raymond, Dylan Larkin, Patrick Kane, Alex DeBrincat, & the Detroit power play combining for the only hope in the game before falling in the lopsided affair, as well as an overall discussion on what has gone wrong for Todd McLellan’s squad in another miserable March (6:20).

We then get into the realities of the Stanley Cup Playoff race as well as the NHL Draft Lottery outlook for the familiar position for Steve Yzerman’s squad (13:10). Also, news on Trey Augustine, Red Savage, & the Michigan State Spartans, Axel Sandin Pellikka, Jeff Petry & Erik Gustafsson, & more (29:00).

After that, a discussion on some potential targets for Steve Yzerman this offseason as he looks for a stopgap until Nate Danielson, Marco Kasper, Brandsegg-Nygard, & others can take over: Brad Marchand? John Tavares? Brock Boeser? Defensive help for Moritz Seider and Simon Edvinsson? (31:40)

Next, the NHL taking a look at adding expansion teams in Houston and Atlanta, and maybe 2 more markets (47:05) before getting into our 2025 NHL Entry Draft Prospect Profile on Porter Martone: is he worth a #1 overall pick over Hagens, Schaefer, or Misa? What’s his ceiling? (56:45)

All of that and lots more before we take your questions and comments in our Overtime segment (1:04:35) – enjoy!
