First Mock Draft and Lottery Pain – Red Wings Fall AGAIN

The Detroit Red Wings are beyond cursed when it comes to the NHL Draft Lottery.

Tune in as we start by recapping the 2025 NHL Draft Lottery, as the New York Islanders and Utah Hockey Club (now Mammoth) win their draws, pushing the Detroit Red Wings down to 12th overall. Our thoughts, analysis on the odds, how the Red Wings have been screwed historically by the draft lottery process (despite landing Moritz Seider, Lucas Raymond, Simon Edvinsson, & others), & more (3:15).

Next, our 2025 NHL Mock Draft of the first half of Round 1, including who we would pick if we were Steve Yzerman looking to bolster the Hockeytown lineup: forward support for Larkin, DeBrincat, Kane, Kasper, and Raymond? A defenseman to join Seider, Edvinsson, & Johansson? (19:35) Full picks listed below:

Next, a Stanley Cup Playoffs update including an insane comeback in Winnipeg as the Jets and Hellebuyck survive Game 7 against the Blues, and the Leafs vs. Panthers series off to a hot start thanks to Bennett, Tkachuk, Stolarz, and more. Also, an update on David Carle staying in Denver (47:15).

All of that & lots more before we take your questions and comments in our Overtime segment (1:09:05) – enjoy!
