Kasper, Edvinsson Contracts and Red Wings Trade Proposals

WWP NIGHT w/ the GRAND RAPIDS GRIFFINS TICKETS ON SALE NOW: griffinshockey.com/wwp

As the offseason begins to wind down, we’re back with another (remote) episode of the Winged Wheel Podcast ft. Max Bultman of The Athletic Detroit to take advantage of the downtime!

We start by discussing the recent changes to the CBA, and how the NHL’s implementation plan on certain shifts can benefit Steve Yzerman and the Detroit Red Wings when it comes to extending Simon Edvinsson and Marco Kasper. Can Hockeytown’s core be solidified with more contracts like Dylan Larkin, Moritz Seider, and Lucas Raymond’s? (3:55) We then discuss the earlier implementation of the Stanley Cup Playoffs salary cap and whether that means teams like Florida or Vegas would have to shed cap – could someone like Evan Rodrigues be on Steve Yzerman’s radar to add to McLellan’s Detroit Red Wings? (23:25)

After announce WWP Night w/ the Grand Rapids Griffins details (35:35), we take an opportunity to review some mailbag “who says no” trade proposals: McTavish, Karlsson, Sandin Pellikka, Danielson, Bear, Connor, & more – would any of these deals make sense? (40:00)

All of that & lots more before we take your questions and comments in our Overtime segment (1:08:30) – enjoy!
