MRAZEK BACK TO DETROIT… RED WINGS TRADE DEADLINE RECAP (Yzerman Sits Pat)

The NHL Trade Deadline has come and gone, and Steve Yzerman’s moves (or mostly lack thereof) have Detroit Red Wings fans a bit confused…

Tune in as we open by covering the return of Petr Mrazek to Hockeytown, as he and Craig Smith come from the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for Joe Veleno – reactions, analysis, value, how this affects Sebastian Cossa. Cam Talbot, & Alex Lyon, & more. Next, a discussion on whether sitting tight and not adding more help for Dylan Larkin, Moritz Seider, Lucas Raymond, Alex DeBrincat, & the rest of Todd McLellan’s squad, losing Christian Fischer to waivers, and Yzerman’s comments on the high prices in the crazy sellers’ market across the league (3:45).

After that, Steve Yzerman’s notes on wanting to be a bigger, tougher team (40:05), before covering big trades from across the league, including: Jake Walman and the sore spot for Red Wings fans, Dylan Cozens – Josh Norris, Mikko Rantanen – Logan Stankoven, Brock Nelson, Scott Laughton, Brad Marchand, & other deals in a crazy day outside of Detroit (48:45).

Finally, a somber note as Carter Mazur’s debut end horrifically for the Grand Rapids Griffins star (1:08:30) before we take your questions and comments in our Overtime segment (1:11:00) – enjoy this “emergency” episode!
