Raymond’s Pace and McLellan’s First Test

The Detroit Red Wings win streak ends at 7, and McLellan’s squad has a tough test ahead…

Tune in as we open by discussing the ugly loss in Hockeytown to Jake Walman & Macklin Celebrini’s San Jose Sharks, including tough games from Justin Holl & Ville Husso, Patrick Kane’s point streak, Dylan Larkin and Lucas Raymond’s fantastic play, Vladimir Tarasenko breaking his goal drought (twice), Marco Kasper’s controller disconnect moment, & more (4:45).

Next, Todd McLellan’s candid post-game presser & his style of holding players accountable, the Red Wings’ upcoming road trip & the implications it has on the rest of the season, & whether Steve Yzerman will use the next 4 games to make any Trade Deadline decisions (15:25).

After that, a look at how Lucas Raymond’s point pace compares to Detroit Red Wings recent history, Tim Stutzle, Seth Jarvis, & others, how Alex DeBrincat, Larkin, Kane & other forwards have helped him, whether he could reach the 100 point plateau with more help than just his linemantes and Moritz Seider + Simon Edvinsson, & more (29:20).

Finally, NHL news including just what on earth the Pittsburgh Penguins are going to do as Sidney Crosby still wants to win, Tristan Jarry is waived, & their cupboard is bare (39:00), as well as a midseason look at the Hart Trophy candidates: Nathan MacKinnon, Quinn Hughes, Kirill Kaprizov, Connor Hellebuyck, Leon Draisaitl, Connor McDavid… and Sean Monahan? (48:05)

All of that & plenty more before we take your questions and comments in our Overtime segment (53:20) – enjoy!
